European breakdown cover
From award winning assistance providers for cars, 4x4s, MPVs, SUVs, light vans, motorcycles, company vehicles, camper vans, motorhomes and towed caravans and trailers up to 8 metres.
If you regularly travel to Europe or are planning a single trip, driving your own vehicle is an appealing option for many drivers. Rather than hiring a car or having to arrange public transport, travelling in your own vehicle can be much more convenient. But it’s important to make sure your car has appropriate European breakdown cover, allowing you to enjoy your journey without the concern of being stranded on the roadside if something goes wrong.

Our European breakdown policies offer excellent all round levels of cover, designed to prepare you for a range of eventualities. With either single trip or annual insurance for your vehicle, we can help you get back on the road. For example, if your vehicle requires roadside assistance while in Europe, our breakdown cover can make sure you are towed to a local garage, given a replacement car or even provided with overnight accommodation. Alternatively, our policies can support you if your vehicle is stolen, or if you require legal funds.

Book for immediate cover
Many breakdown providers will not provide assistance in the first 48 to 72 hours after a policy has been issued in order to combat potentially fraudulent claims. This is not ideal if your need is genuine and your on your way abroad. This could then result in you potentially driving around Europe uninsured until this "no claim" period has passed.
If you need to "book and go", our Eurobreakdown policies will provide instant cover provided you have not left the UK and you have not had an incident and intend to claim.
Instant documentation
Whenever you book online or via the call centre, the policy certificate, wording and emergency contact details are emailed to you instantly.
Everything that you require for emergency assistance during your trip will be contained within these emailed documents.
No callout limits per trip
The Eurobreakdown policies set no limits on the number of times you can call for assistance during your trip. So if you need help, call and we'll provide whatever assistance is required to get you and your vehicle on your way again in the shortest possible timeframe.
Area of European breakdown cover
You are covered in the direct journeys between your home and your international departure point from the UK and on into Europe until such time as you complete your journey back to your home address in the UK.
For the purpose of defining the area of cover, Europe is defined as: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Balearics, Bulgaria, Canary Islands, Corsica, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Madeira, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Romania, San Marino, Sicicly, Sardinia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and Vatican City.
Max vehicle occupants
Our policies cover up to 8 passengers including the driver. Assistance will be provided to each individual for onward travel to their destination including the option for car hire or local accommodation costs if they lose the use of their vehicle for more than 8 hours.
Max vehicle dimensions
If your car needs recovering from the side of a road and to be taken to a garage or a safe storage area then it will need to be winched onto a recovery vehicle. In order to do this safely we need to ensure that the overall maximum dimensions of any vehicle recovered are: 8 metres or less in length, 3 metres or less in height, 2.3 metres or less in width and 3,500 kg or less in weight. Anything longer may cause instability and cause a potential accident.
Towed vehicle length
If your caravan or trailer needs recovering from the side of a road and taken to a garage or a safe storage area then it will need to be winched onto a recovery vehicle. In order to do this safely we need to ensure that the overall maximum length of any towed vehicle recovered is 8 metres or less. Anything longer may cause instability and cause a potential accident.
24/7 emergency European breakdown cover support
Following an incident either in the UK or abroad which results in you needing assistance you have unlimited access to an English speaking call centre with multi lingual translation assistance services. Support services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and the centre is open all year round.
