| This company was superb in helping my wife and I when we broke down outside of Madrid. The office staff are super and made a stressful situation a bit calmer for us. As my title says I really can't thank this company enough, This has to be the best Breakdown Service from a Company that I have ever had. Thank you very much I can't recommend you enough. European Breakdown Cover for Caravans and Trailers
Now its highly unlikely that anything will go wrong with your caravan or trailer whilst your abroad but when your booking a policy you will have two choices.
This if you want your caravan or trailer covered independently from your vehicle with its own 24/7 Emergency support for roadside assistance, caravan or trailer recovery to a garage if it can't be fixed at the roadside and repatriation to the UK following a breakdown if it can't be fixed.
If you want your caravan or trailer to be fully covered then you have to say "Yes" to the towing question and then you will be safe in the knowledge your vehicle and your towed caravan or trailer are in safe hands and are fully insured.
If you "don't" want your caravan or trailer covered as a seperate vehicle.
If you say "No" to the towing question in the booking engine and your vehicle breaks down then your caravan and trailer will be rescued from the roadside along with the vehicle and will be towed to a local garage. By answering "No" there will be no extra cover as shown above.
Unlike other operators who only cover the vehicle and view your caravan or trailer as an accessory, our policy will provide cover if your caravan or trailer suffers a breakdown whilst its being towed. We will send a mechanic to fix the caravan or trailer at the roadside and if it can't be mended we will recover the towed vehicle to a local garage so that it can be fixed.
In the unlikely event that it can't be fixed in time for your original planned return date we will then either pay your expenses to go back and pick up your towed caravan or trailer or a recovery vehicle will repatriate it to your home address in the UK.
Having chosen to insure your caravan or trailer, they would be covered for the following:
If you choose one of our European breakdown policies, you will have comprehensive cover when towing your caravan or trailer in Europe, and be reassured that you have the support of the world's largest assistance provider Allianz to help when you most need it.
Remember our breakdown cover policies for Europe will cover you for: electrical or mechanical breakdown, road accident, damage or destruction by fire or attempted theft, puncture or the loss of keys which means the insured vehicle cannot be moved.
Did you know?
Your caravan or trailer is covered as well as your vehicle if you have chosen the towing cover and that includes repatriation if it can't be fixed

Book for immediate cover
Many breakdown providers will not provide assistance in the first 48 to 72 hours after a policy has been issued in order to combat potentially fraudulent claims. This is not ideal if your need is genuine and your on your way abroad. This could then result in you potentially driving around Europe uninsured until this "no claim" period has passed.
If you need to "book and go", our Eurobreakdown policies will provide instant cover provided you have not left the UK and you have not had an incident and intend to claim.
Whenever you book online or via the call centre, the policy certificate, wording and emergency contact details are emailed to you instantly.
Everything that you require for emergency assistance during your trip will be contained within these emailed documents.
No callout limits per trip
The Eurobreakdown policies set no limits on the number of times you can call for assistance during your trip. So if you need help, call and we'll provide whatever assistance is required to get you and your car on your way again in the shortest possible timeframe.
Area of European breakdown cover
You are covered in the direct journeys between your home and your international departure point from the UK and on into Europe until such time as you complete your journey back to your home address in the UK.
For the purpose of defining the area of cover, Europe is defined with 3 areas:
Area 1: Travel only to the following: Belgium, France, Luxembourg, Netherlands, United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.
Area 2: Andorra, Austria, Canaries, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, lceland, ltaly, Liechtenstein, Madeira, Monaco, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Vatican City.
Area 3: (Rest of Europe): Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia.
Towed vehicle length
If your caravan or trailer needs recovering from the side of a road and taken to a garage or a safe storage area then it will need to be winched onto a recovery vehicle. In order to do this safely we need to ensure that the overall maximum length of any towed vehicle recovered is 8 metres or less. Anything longer may cause instability and cause a potential accident.
24/7 emergency European breakdown cover support
Following an incident either in the UK or abroad which results in you needing assistance you have unlimited access to an English speaking call centre with multi lingual translation assistance services. Support services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and the centre is open all year round.
Assistance for your caravan or trailer if it breaks down
The breakdown provider will arrange and pay for labour and call out charges involved in roadside assistance and in making the caravan/trailer fit to be towed or in arranging for the caravan/trailer to be taken to a garage or safe storage area after the event.
Trailer or Caravan taken to UK if it can't be fixed
If following an event you cannot use your caravan/trailer and it cannot be repaired in the time to make your original planned return to the UK, the breakdown cover provider will arrange to take your caravan/trailer to your home address or to a repairer of your choice in the UK. * Note the maximum amount payable is limited to the caravan/trailers current market value.
