FAQ - Booking European breakdown cover at the last minute

Already abroad

We cannot however issue you a policy if you are already abroad. Sorry.

Please note that as part of the declarations stage of the booking you are asked to confirm that you are booking the policy before you depart the UK. If you book once you are abroad and take out a policy in the hope of getting assistance, then you will be declined cover and will be charged the full amount of assistance. 

If you are booking last minute just before you leave the UK, note that you cant make a claim in the first 24 hours after the moment of purchase so as to avoid insuring those who have already broken down and are taking out a policy to cover a known event.
